Up Our Needs About Mathare Valley Education and Feeding HIV / AIDS Rehabilitation Visits to Mathare Women's Advocacy

The outreach has made a huge impact on the lives of individuals like George (right). He is one of the guides who takes visitors through the Valley. He came to the Church after two of his friends were killed and he needed somewhere to run to. George comes from a family of six children. After dropping out of school, he was idle and was quickly finding himself in trouble.

Many young people are attracted to the recreational programs we sponsor. Our football team competes in a divisional tournament.  This season the team remains unbeaten in its division.  The players are young boys from Mathare who have been reached by the ministry of the Outreach Community Church in Mathare and now attend church there

The Outreach Church has become a main attraction for the young people who live in the Valley. A new generator runs the sound system during the week when the youth rehearse for their Sunday service musical presentations. The generator (which runs on paraffin) also powers the TV and VCR which are used to show good documentaries, educational and Christian videos. They are a positive alternative to many of the detrimental videos that are shown in the Mathare Valley.
